Navsari | Gujarat — The Navsari Municipal Corporation (NMC) has recently implemented a water supply and drainage project worth ₹112 crore, which is expected to benefit more than 25,000 residents in the areas along with four villages of Eru, Dharagiri, Dantej, and Hansapore.

Due to lack of clean drinking water and drainage lines in these outer areas of the city, there was a serious problem of drinking water and drainage lines. To permanently solve these problems, a new water supply and drainage network is being constructed by the Navsari Municipal Corporation in these areas at a cost of about ₹112 crore.

Under this project, the Municipal Corporation will build modern infrastructure facilities like new water and drainage pipelines, overhead tanks and underground sumps, drainage pumping stations, sewage treatment plants (STP), and new water treatment plants in phases. Due to this, more than 25,000 locals will get great relief from the problem of drinking water and sewage disposal. Health problems among children will also end.

The water supply and new drainage network in Navsari will not only improve the infrastructure facilities, but will also prove to be an important step towards making the city clean, safe and modern. In the four villages that have been connected to the Navsari Municipal Corporation area, in addition to roads, lights, new drainage and water networks, gardens, ponds are being developed, construction of Vihardham, civic center and distribution of dustbins for cleaning are also being planned.

Navsari Municipal Commissioner Dev Chaudhary said about this project, “In the new year, Navsari Municipal Corporation is paying special attention to basic facilities in the city. This includes drainage, roads, storm water and water system. With this aim, a plan has been made to lay the entire network of drainage, water and storm water in four villages connected to the city. In the first phase, drainage and water supply work will be done in these four villages. This project is being implemented as per the stipulated timeline, which will soon provide relief to the people and increase their well-being.”
