Ahmedabad : A massive fire broke out early in the morning in Titanium Square, a commercial building near the Thaltej intersection on SG Highway. The blaze, caused by a short circuit, engulfed three floors, gutting more than 12 offices. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the offices were unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The fire started on the ninth floor of Block C around 4:23 AM and quickly spread to the 10th and 11th floors. Divisional Chief Fire Officer Swastik Jadeja and Inayat Singh stated that fire brigade teams from Prahladnagar and Thaltej fire stations were dispatched immediately after receiving the alert. Upon arrival, the fire had already spread extensively, prompting the deployment of additional teams.

A total of 28 fire engines from multiple fire stations, including Chandkheda, Sabarmati, and Maninagar, were mobilized to tackle the fierce blaze. Senior fire brigade officials supervised the operation, which involved using advanced firefighting equipment and breaking office doors to access the affected areas.

The fire brigade worked tirelessly for three hours to bring the fire under control. Despite their efforts, the fire completely destroyed the offices on the 9th, 10th, and 11th floors, leaving them in ashes.

The early morning timing of the incident proved to be a saving grace, as no employees were present in the building, preventing potential casualties. Officials confirmed that the fire originated due to a short circuit on the ninth floor, highlighting the importance of regular maintenance and adherence to fire safety protocols in commercial buildings.

Authorities are expected to investigate further and review safety guidelines to prevent such incidents in the future.

Titanium Square’s fire has raised concerns among Ahmedabad residents and businesses about fire safety in high-rise commercial buildings. The swift response of the fire brigade, however, averted a larger disaster and ensured that the situation was brought under control without loss of life.
