Marengo CIMS Hospital achieved a significant milestone with Six Successful Renal Denervation Procedures

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], January 31: Marengo CIMS Hospital has achieved a significant clinical milestone by completing six Renal Denervation (RDN) procedures, among one of the highest in India and the highest in Gujarat. The procedures were performed by a senior team of interventional cardiologists—Dr. Keyur Parikh, Dr. Vipul Kapoor, and Dr. Tejas V. Patel—positioning the hospital among India’s leading centres offering this advanced therapy for resistant hypertension.

One such case involved a 57-year-old man whose systolic blood pressure remained above 200 mmHg despite being on seven antihypertensive medications. His medical history included coronary artery disease, diabetes, double-vessel disease, and a prior left circumflex coronary stent (2014), with  standard high blood pressure treatment ineffective despite 6-7 medicines daily .

On 27 January 2026, Renal Denervation was performed at Marengo CIMS hospital under the care of Dr. Keyur Parikh, with support from Dr. Tejas V. Patel and Dr. Vipul Kapoor, and anaesthetic standby by Dr. Hiren Dholakia. Using a right femoral artery approach, a carefully planned bilateral renal denervation was carried out with the Simplicity Spyral™ catheter and AI-enabled Simplicity G3 generator.

Over nearly three hours, 36 radiofrequency ablations (23 right, 13 left) were successfully delivered, safely interrupting overactive renal sympathetic nerves that drive resistant hypertension.Patient went home next day. Another similar case done few months ago ,  on a middle age lady, whose BP was over 200 with 6 medicines daily is now taking only 2 tablets daily with BP controlled around 130/80.
