New Delhi: A major security breach occurred in the Parliament today when two individuals breached the security cordon and entered the House during the ongoing proceedings. This incident has sparked serious concerns about the security of the Parliament and the need for a thorough investigation.

The incident unfolded during the Question Hour session when two individuals, identified as Neelam Kaur Singh and Amol Dhanraj Shinde, jumped from the visitor’s gallery and entered the House. They reportedly threw colored smoke canisters, causing disruption and chaos within the chamber.

The quick action of the MPs and security personnel prevented any further harm. The individuals were apprehended and are currently under investigation. Initial reports suggest their motive was to stage a protest.

This incident has triggered a wave of outrage and raised questions about the adequacy of the security measures in place at Parliament. The timing of the incident, coinciding with the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, adds a layer of gravity to the situation.

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary expressed his concern, stating, “This is a serious security breach, especially on a day when we pay homage to the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack. It is imperative that a thorough investigation be conducted to identify the shortcomings and take necessary measures to strengthen security.”

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, condemned the incident and announced the adjournment of the House proceedings until 2 p.m. He assured a thorough investigation and promised to take necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of the Parliament.

The security breach in the Parliament has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of security measures in place at vital national institutions. It is crucial for the authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation, identify the vulnerabilities, and implement stricter security protocols to prevent such incidents from happening again.
