Ahmedabad : The Kshatriya community in Gujarat is gearing up for the launch of their second phase of agitation with the commencement of the ‘Asmita Rath’ from Dwarka on April 24. This symbolic chariot rally, organized in protest against union minister Parshottam Rupala’s contentious remarks about the Kshatriya samaj, aims to challenge the BJP’s stance and demand the replacement of Rupala despite the community’s prolonged 22-day agitation.
The itinerary for the Asmita Rath includes stops at Banwad and Jamjodhpur, with plans to engage in democratic-style programs reaching down to the booth level in every taluka and village. The Kshatriya coordination committee, strategizing during their meeting in Jamnagar on April 22, outlined a comprehensive approach to mobilize support and garner opposition against the BJP.
Beginning its journey from Kalavad on April 27, the Asmita Rath will traverse through Dhrol, symbolizing the community’s resolute stance against the BJP. Under the auspices of the Gujarat Rajput Coordination Committee, the Kshatriya leaders have announced their intent to intensify their agitation efforts, including active mobilization and forming committees at the village and ward levels to galvanize anti-BJP sentiment.
The Kshatriya Coordination Committee meeting, held at the Rajput Samajna Hall in Jamnagar, witnessed a significant turnout, with representatives from various sub-Rajput castes and leaders of the Rajput community in attendance. During the meeting, strategies were devised to ensure maximum voter turnout against the BJP, with plans to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds across villages and talukas.
Speaking about the upcoming agitation, leaders emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in voicing opposition to the BJP’s handling of the situation. Programs and initiatives will be launched to mobilize voters and convey the community’s dissatisfaction with the current political scenario.
“The Asmita Rath serves as a potent symbol of the Kshatriya community’s determination to assert their rights and demand accountability from political leaders. As the rally sets in motion, the stage is set for heightened political engagement and advocacy as the community strives to make its voice heard in the democratic process” said PT Jadeja, leader of Kshatriya coordination committee.
