The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahlaya, and the Kala Ghoda Association all worked together to put on this one-of-a-kind and enthralling show. All of these groups have made it their mission to protect and promote Mumbai’s diverse cultural history.

The Kala Ghoda Association (KGA) hosts the biggest multi-disciplinary street art event in Asia every year in the form of the Kala Ghoda Arts event. Its principal goal is to collect money for the upkeep and repair of Kala Ghoda, a significant cultural centre in South Mumbai. Art galleries, customers, and concerned citizens work together to open their doors to nearly 2 million festivalgoers each year at the festival’s 15+ sites.

Museums, art galleries, shops, restaurants, and educational institutions can all be found in the Kala Ghoda neighbourhood, which is well-known for its abundance of historic structures, creative spaces, and cultural treasures. The performance is a celebration of this tradition, a musical ode to the thriving history that characterises the neighbourhood.

This event mirrors the greater objective of the Kala Ghoda Association by bringing together the talent of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his musical legacy in an effort to conserve and respect the cultural and historical area of Mumbai.
