Ahmedabad : The third IPA Neerathon will be conducted in Ahmedabad on Sunday, October 8th, after the success of previous Neerathon events in Bengaluru (April 2023) and Chennai (September 2023) with 3500+ people joining together for the cause of water. There will be timed 5 and 10 km races, as well as a fun 3 kilometre run for all ages, at this Sabarmati Riverfront event.

Minesh Shah, Chairman of the IPA’s Ahmedabad Chapter, explained the organization’s goal in holding the Neerathon Water Awareness Festival: to educate the people about the need of water conservation. Even though it’s one of India’s most prosperous states, the water supply in Gujarat is in danger. Including Ahmedabad, 16 of the 33 districts have a “water deficiency” due to an imbalance between demand and supply. The Indian Plumbing Association’s IPA Neerathon is an initiative aimed at raising awareness of the little changes individuals may do to improve water security. Minesh Shah, also at the press briefing, said that IPA Neerathon is a Water Awareness Festival that would bring together people from all across Ahmedabad.

Water is the source of all life, and protecting it is our moral obligation to future generations. Fresh Water Watch argues that water conservation is not only right, but also a moral imperative. Since only around 3% of all water on Earth is really drinkable, it’s crucial that we utilise what we have wisely so that it won’t run out for future generations.

“IPA Neerathon 2023 in Ahmedabad is a call to action, urging individuals, families, and communities to join hands for this noble cause,” said Sujal Shah, the event’s national convener. If we work together, we can make a real impact in India’s quest for a water-secure future. We are optimistic that many more Amdavadis will join us enthusiastically for this WATER Awareness Festival after seeing the positive reaction to the IPA Neerathon so far. Participants in the IPA Neerathon 2023 are asked to invite their loved ones to this Water Awareness Festival.

“Jal Hai to Kal Hai” (Only where there is water is there hope). Saving water is everyone’s business, not a personal option. Participants may help Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieve his goal of making India water-positive by 2047 by embracing the worthy cause. We’re getting closer to this lofty objective with every IPA Neerathon stride,” stated Gurmit Singh Arora, IPA National President.

Sabarmati Riverfront Corporation, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, and CREDAI GIHED all provide their support to the IPA Neerathon Ahmedabad. Sameer Sinha, Founder & Director, Savvy Infrastructure, Zeel Desai, India’s Top Tennis Player, Geet Sethi, Former Billiards World Champion, RJ Devki from RED FM 93.5, Yogesh Thakkar, National President- ISHRAE and National Executive Board Member-IIID (Indian Institute of Interior Designers), Jayesh Modi, Honorary Secretary, Karnavati Club, Lihas Trivedi, Founder

Support for Neerathon has come from a wide variety of runners, including Ironman finisher and nutritionist Shaily Chauhan, Amdavad Distance Runners president Hemal Shah, Boston Marathon qualifier Amit Bhattacharjee, 1150+ half marathon finisher Abhishek Singh Pandher, and renowned pathologist Dr. Bhaskar.

Companies like Ashirvad and PSP Projects as well as Astral and Zydus Wellness and Nirma are supporting this event. IGBC, FSAI, GICEA, ISHRAE, IIA, IIID, Rotary Club Ahmedabad Metro, NAREDCO, and WMF are just few of the organisations that have shown their support. Radio station Red FM has joined IPA as a media partner, joining DHS Multi Specialty Hospital in the medical realm, Decathlon in the sports realm, Ultimate Health in the physiotherapy realm, and HET and Khushi in the media realm. In addition to LH Sports, who are event partners, Gajanand Pauva House, who are food partners, and Brooks, who are running partners.
