India Research Tour 2024 Arrives at CUG
Springer Nature aims to promote research outcomes from India and establish better relationships with researchers and academic institutions. It was stated that the India Research Tour 2024 would support impactful research initiatives.
Gandhinagar : The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Springer Nature, is organizing the India Research Tour 2024 from September 19 to October 17, 2024. On Saturday, the research tour arrived at the Central University of Gujarat. The aim of the tour is to raise awareness about Indian research and strengthen the research ecosystem.
The program held at the university featured an overview presented by Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Managing Director of Springer Nature India. The event began with a tree plantation and the ceremonial flagging off of the research tour bus.
During the event, Council Member Prof. Kiran Kumar K. Salagame, Head of Indexing at Springer Nature Ms. Sonal Shukla, Outreach Manager Ms. Rhea Dadra, and M. Ramanathan provided insights on various aspects of research publications, research integrity, open access, and transformative agreements. They explained that Springer Nature aims to promote research outcomes from India and establish better relationships with researchers and academic institutions. They stated that the India Research Tour 2024 would support impactful research initiatives.
Chairing the program, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rama Shanker Dubey, emphasized the importance of high-quality research and its publication in reputable journals. On this occasion, a focus group discussion was also held on research integrity and its role in strengthening Indian higher education. The discussion saw active participation from university faculty members, including Prof. Bhawana Pathak, Prof. Pallavi Sharma, and Prof. Suresh Kumar Agarwal.
During the program, the book Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability, edited by Vice Chancellor Prof. Rama Shanker Dubey and Prof. Bhawana Pathak, was also released. Additionally, Springer Nature honoured five women researchers from the university: Dr. Manasi Singh, Dr. Bhakti Gala, Dr. Panchami Prabhakaran, Prof. Pallavi Sharma, and Prof. Bhawana Pathak.
