The company, launched in January 2024, has grown rapidly by earning the trust of pet parents, rather than following the traditional venture capital route.
Founded by designer and entrepreneur Anil Reddy, Happy Pet Tech aims to organize India’s rapidly growing but largely unstructured petcare industry. “Walk into most vet clinics or grooming centers and you’ll still find handwritten notes, WhatsApp threads, and scattered reminders,” said Anil Reddy, Founder of Happy Pet Tech. “We built Happy Pet to bring structure and simplicity to every stakeholder in the pet ecosystem – vets, groomers, boarders, and most importantly, pet parents.”

The Investor Story
Unusually for a tech startup, Happy Pet Tech’s seed investors are also pet parents. Suresh and Anita Murugan always say they have four kids – Two human kids and two German Shepherds.“Supporting Anil wasn’t about ROI for me,” said Suresh, “It was about backing someone who genuinely wanted to make life better for pets and those who care for them.”
Similar sentiments were echoed by Divya and Surya Annamaneni. They always proudly claim they have two sets of twins – A pair of Dogo Argentinos who were adopted during the pandemic, and their children who followed a year later.
“I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelmed pet businesses are just trying to stay organized,” said Surya Annamaneni, seed investor and adviser, who is also Happy Pet’s Head of Sales. “Happy Pet Tech is a one-of-a-kind tech enabler for everyone in the pet-parent ecosystem. What Anil and the team have built may look like a technology platform today, but it’s the growing community within it that will make it a necessity for pet businesses in the near future.”

The platform’s success is also rooted in thoughtful design and user experience, led by a small, focused product team. Varun Sudhakar, who has been part of the team since the ideation stage, said, “Pet businesses don’t operate like regular businesses. We’ve built this platform specifically around their needs.”
Happy Pet Tech is now live across India and has begun expanding into international markets, including the UAE and Australia. The team continues to prioritize user feedback and community engagement over aggressive capital-driven growth.
