Valsad | Gujarat — A horrifying tragedy in Gujarat’s Valsad district has left an entire village in shock after three innocent children from the same family died under suspicious circumstances following an alleged domestic dispute in Pali Karambeli village of Umargam taluka.

The deceased include three-year-old Naira and seven-month-old twin infants, whose sudden deaths have triggered grief, outrage and intense speculation across the region. Police suspect the children may have been administered a poisonous substance during the night, although officials said the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the postmortem examination.

The children’s mother, Nishaben, was also found in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. Authorities are probing whether the incident was linked to escalating tensions within the family.

As news of the tragedy spread, stunned villagers and relatives gathered outside the family home while police teams launched a detailed investigation. The bodies of the three children were shifted to Bhilad Primary Health Centre for postmortem.

Speaking to reporters, the woman’s mother-in-law alleged that the family dispute began after the husband confronted Nishaben over alleged conversations with another man.

“She had been staying at her parents’ house for a week. My son scolded her and told her to leave the children here if she wanted to go back. We do not know what she gave the children or what happened during the night,” the mother-in-law claimed.

According to family members, everyone had gone to sleep in separate rooms and the incident came to light only the next morning when the children failed to wake up.

The husband also alleged that he had checked his wife’s mobile phone and found messages and photographs of another person, which led to an argument between them.

“I questioned her after seeing the messages and call records. She became angry after the confrontation. We never imagined something like this could happen,” he said.

Police officials have maintained that all angles are being investigated and no final conclusions will be drawn until forensic and medical reports are received.
