GANDHINAGAR – In a major step towards realizing the vision of “Viksit Gujarat se Viksit Bharat @2047,” the Gujarat government has unveiled its Industrial Policy 2026, offering a wide range of incentives aimed at attracting investments, strengthening manufacturing, boosting startups and positioning the state as a global hub for innovation-driven industrial growth.
The policy outlines an ambitious roadmap to transform Gujarat into a globally competitive and sustainable industrial powerhouse with a strong focus on advanced manufacturing, value addition and integration with global value chains. Key thrust sectors include green hydrogen, renewable energy equipment, mobility, textiles, technical textiles, chemicals, healthcare, agro-processing, critical minerals, electronics recycling, drones, robotics and semiconductor ancillary industries.
Officials said the policy seeks to create a future-ready industrial ecosystem while generating employment opportunities and encouraging technological innovation.
“Gujarat has consistently led India’s industrial growth story. This policy is designed to attract next-generation industries while ensuring sustainability, innovation and inclusive economic development,” a senior government official said.
One of the standout features of the policy is its strong support for startups. Eligible startups will receive monthly sustenance allowances, seed funding support and additional incentives for women-led, fintech, biotech and green enterprises. Women entrepreneurs will also benefit from enhanced interest subsidies, rental assistance and specialized accelerator programs.
The state has also announced substantial incentives to position Gujarat as a leading research and development destination. The first five R&D centres investing at least ₹300 crore will receive special incentives, including capital subsidies, land cost reimbursements, payroll support and patent assistance. A Gujarat Research & Innovation Park is also planned to attract domestic and international technology companies.
In a significant move towards sustainable industrialization, the policy offers generous assistance for wastewater recycling, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) projects, cleaner production technologies and common environmental infrastructure. Industries adopting green manufacturing practices will be eligible for substantial financial support.
The policy further includes incentives for worker housing, private industrial parks, skill development centres and relocation of industries from congested urban areas under Project T.H.R.I.V.E.
Industry leaders have welcomed the policy, particularly its flexible incentive structure for MSMEs, large enterprises and mega projects. Experts believe the initiative could significantly enhance Gujarat’s attractiveness as an investment destination while strengthening its leadership in sectors ranging from textiles and chemicals to renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.
With a blend of innovation, sustainability and investment-friendly reforms, Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026 is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s next phase of industrial transformation and economic growth.
