Porbandar | Gujarat — In a major initiative to promote teamwork, physical fitness, operational coordination, and camaraderie among coastal police personnel, the Office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Coastal Security, Gujarat State, organised the Inter-Coastal District Games 2026 on Friday at Chowpatty Beach in Porbandar.
“This was the first-of-its-kind event organised by Gujarat Police to strengthen teamwork, physical fitness, operational coordination, and camaraderie among coastal police personnel, thereby contributing to a stronger and more effective coastal security framework in Gujarat,” said Subodh Mankar, Superintendent of Police, Coastal Security, Gandhinagar.
A total of 20 teams participated in the event, including 17 teams from coastal district police units and three teams from the Marine Task Force (MTF). Competitions were held in various beach and water sports categories, including beach volleyball, beach kabaddi, tug of war, sea swimming, and sea kayaking.
“The winners from various events will compete in the finals in the presence of Director General of Police (DGP & HoPF) Shri Dr K.L.N. Rao in the near future, and awards will be presented to the winners,” Shri Subodh Mankar added.
The event was held under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police (ATS & Coastal Security) Amit Kumar Vishwakarma and the direction of Director General of Police (DGP & HoPF) Dr K.L.N. Rao.
