Gujarat : minor girl raped in Jasdan, accused at large

Ahmedabad | Gujarat — A six year old girl from a laborer’s family has been raped in the Aatkot area in Jasdan, Gujarat. An unknown person had caused serious injury to the girl by inserting a sharp weapon into her private parts. After this incident, the girl was shifted to Janana Hospital in Rajkot for treatment. Police have registered the complaint and have started a manhunt for the accused. 

According to the information received, a family of four including husband, wife, six-year-old girl and an eight-month-old girl, hailing from Dahod, are doing labour work in the farm for the last four days. When the mother and father were doing labour work in the farm, the six-year-old girl was playing with her little sister. During this time, an unknown person abducted the girl and sexually abused her. 

The accused had committed rape by strangulating the girl. He then inserted a sharp weapon like a stick into the girl’s private parts, due to which the girl received serious injuries. She was bleeding severely. The accused who carried out the incident ran away leaving the girl there.

When the family started searching for the girl, she was found nearby in a bloody condition. Seeing the critical condition of the girl, the family immediately took her to Janana Hospital in Rajkot. Police sources have said that the girl is currently undergoing treatment.

Regarding this incident, Aatkot police registered a case under POCSO and rape sections based on the complaint of the girl’s father. The police have set in motion the investigation process to track down the accused.

Keeping in mind the seriousness of this case, Rajkot SP Vijaysinh Gurjar, DYSP, SOG, LCB and crime branch have reached Aatkot village. Currently, investigation is going on regarding the suspected accused at Atkot Police Station.

According to preliminary information, 19 people have been interrogated and one accused has been arrested.
