Gujarat : Massive Blaze Engulfs PAB Organics in Vadodara

Vadodara, Gujarat —  A massive inferno ripped through PAB Organics Private Limited in the Nandesari Industrial Estate near Vadodara this Thursday morning, sending towering plumes of smoke two kilometers into the sky and sparking widespread panic. The ferocious blaze, which erupted in a solvent-filled drum, required a relentless three-hour battle by a combined force of approximately ten fire tenders from multiple agencies to finally bring under control.

Eyewitnesses described a scene of sudden chaos as the fire took hold. “We heard a loud bang, and then within minutes, thick black smoke started pouring out,” recounted an employee from a neighboring unit, who wished to remain anonymous. “The flames just spread so quickly. Everyone here knows how dangerous chemical fires can be, so panic definitely set in.”

The incident originated in the production department of PAB Organics, a company specializing in chemical intermediates and fine chemicals. Initial reports suggest a drum filled with solvent ignited, causing the fire to escalate rapidly. Soon, fire tenders from the Vadodara Fire Brigade, GSFC, and GAIL fire brigades joined the grueling effort, dousing the inferno with water and foam. The sheer scale of the fire prompted immediate precautionary alerts to nearby companies within the industrial estate.

The dramatic visual of smoke engulfing the area for miles underscored the severity of the incident. “The sirens were constant,” remarked a local shopkeeper near the industrial estate. “It felt like the entire fire department was here. It’s a stark reminder of the risks involved with these chemical factories.”
