Gujarat holds key to BJP’s defeat : Rahul Gandhi

Modasa, Gujarat : Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, launched the Sangathan Shrujan Abhiyan in Modasa, Aravalli District, Gujarat.  Gandhi remarked that only the Congress party has the potential to defeat the BJP and RSS, and that the path begins in Gujarat. 

Rahul Gandhi told a massive assembly of party workers in Modasa on Wednesday that the Congress was founded by Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel from Gujarat.  However, the Congress has been demoralized for several years, but this problem can be resolved with worker cooperation. 

“I had said earlier that there are two types of horses, one of the race and the other of the marriage, but I have now added the third horse that is the lame horse” according to Gandhi.

“A district should not be run from Ahmedabad — it should be run from the district itself. The leaders and representatives there must be empowered, especially the district president. They should be given responsibility and strength for which we are beginning this process now. After discussions with you, we will get 5-6 names from which your district president will be selected. The district president will not be a compromised candidate. They will lead the district.” said Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi has been on a two-day tour of Gujarat.  He lambasted Congress leaders on a public forum and threatened to expel everyone who engages in anti-party acts.

Rahul Gandhi began the campaign with a bang, saying in his address that Gujarat’s workers and leaders are the strongest.  You are aware of the current situation in the country.  There is unemployment in the country, and the whole wealth of the country is distributed to two or three billionaires.  These industrialists are from Gujarat, and you sent them.  Adani and Ambani have full access to everything, including airports, military, and ports.  We’ve been talking for months about how to improve the Congress party.  This is both a political and ideological war.

Rahul Gandhi has publicly chastised inactive Gujarat Congress workers.  He stated that we have three categories of horses: wedding horses, racing horses, and lame horses.  We should understand which horses should be employed for specific tasks.  He went on to say that individuals who betrayed the party would be expelled, and that some senior members would be unable to win in the booth.  We will encourage local candidates who can win, and no candidate will be chosen from a high-level position.

Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi stated that he will be present wherever he is needed in Gujarat and will offer advise.  He went on to say that the district president would be given greater authority, and it has been observed that workers and leaders in Gujarat are willing to undermine one another.  Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi stated that the Congress party originated in Gujarat, and that there has been a sense of dissatisfaction in the Gujarat Congress for many years.  We will fight in Gujarat and win.
