Ahmedabad | Gujarat —The Gujarat government has released new Diwali firecracker guidelines, limiting bursting of firecrackers to 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Following the Supreme Court’s instructions, the state has completely banned high-noise crackers such as bombs and rockets, allowing only green firecrackers that produce less smoke and pollution. Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against violators, emphasizing public safety and environmental responsibility. These measures aim to ensure a safe and eco-friendly Diwali for citizens across Gujarat while controlling rising air and noise pollution during the festival season.

Ban on Noisy Firecrackers

In line with Supreme Court directives, crackers that produce excessive sound are prohibited in Gujarat. Only eco-friendly green firecrackers are permitted. Authorities have clarified that violators will face legal action and confiscation of illegal crackers. This step addresses growing concerns over noise and air pollution during Diwali, which can have serious health impacts.

Enforcement by Police and Local Administration

The Gujarat Home Department has instructed district collectors, police, and municipalities to ensure strict adherence to the Diwali firecracker guidelines. Immediate action is required for violations, and awareness campaigns have been launched to educate citizens about safe and eco-friendly celebrations.

Appeal to Citizens for Eco-Friendly Diwali

The state government has urged citizens to celebrate Diwali with joy while following the 8–10 PM limit and avoiding high-noise crackers. Officials emphasized that using green firecrackers not only protects the environment but also safeguards public health. “We encourage everyone to support a Green Diwali by following the rules,” said a government spokesperson.
