GANDHINAGAR: In a major initiative aimed at supporting talented youth, the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has launched the ‘Avsar’ module to create employment opportunities for candidates who clear multiple stages of competitive examinations but miss final selection.
GPSC Secretary Sudhir Patel announced that the new platform will help bright candidates who reach the interview stage but remain unsuccessful in the final result. These candidates will now get opportunities to connect with government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), cooperative organisations and reputed private companies.
“Candidates who reach the interview stage after clearing prelims and mains examinations are undoubtedly talented. The Avsar module has been developed to ensure that their hard work gets better employment opportunities,” Sudhir Patel said.
Under the initiative, GPSC will act as a bridge between eligible candidates and organisations seeking skilled manpower. Candidates who are unsuccessful in final selections or are placed on waiting lists will be able to share their details with approved institutions after providing online consent.
The facility will initially benefit more than 18,000 candidates who were unsuccessful or waitlisted in over 415 Class-1 and Class-2 recruitment processes completed before July 1, 2026, during the last five years.
Candidates can register their consent through the GPSC-OJAS portal by providing details such as name, mobile number, email ID and educational qualifications. An OTP-based verification system has been introduced to ensure data security.
“Candidate information will be shared only with authorised institutions for employment purposes. Strict measures have been implemented to protect the privacy and security of personal data,” Patel said.
The Commission has clarified that only legally established government departments, PSUs and approved private companies will receive controlled access to the database. Institutions will be responsible for conducting their own recruitment process after receiving candidate details.
GPSC will function only as a facilitator and will not hold responsibility for employment conditions, salary structures, service rules or legal disputes arising after recruitment.
The Commission has advised eligible candidates to visit the official GPSC website and GPSC-OJAS portal for detailed information about the Avsar module and registration process.
