GJEPC chairman honored with ‘Extraordinary 40’ Jewellery World Award in Hong Kong

Surat : Vipul Shah, Chairman of the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), has been conferred with the coveted ‘Extraordinary 40’ Jewellery World Award (JWA) at the 40th edition of the Jewellery & Gem World (JGW) in Hong Kong. This prestigious recognition celebrates Shah’s visionary leadership and his relentless efforts in establishing India as a preeminent destination for the export of gems and jewelry.

In commemoration of the momentous 40th edition of JGW, JWA has launched an extensive multi-month recognition campaign. This campaign culminated in a special gala event held in Hong Kong in September, marking the first in-person gathering of its kind in the city since 2019. The theme for this year’s JWA is “Extraordinary 40,” a befitting tribute to JGW’s four-decade-long journey in the industry.
Vipul Shah, who also serves as the CEO and Managing Director of Asian Star Company Limited, has had a transformative influence on the diamond industry through his visionary leadership and profound understanding of the challenges confronting the sector.
The selection process for the ‘Extraordinary 40’ awardees entailed a meticulous evaluation conducted by Informa’s international team. This team comprises in-house experts and independent third parties who possess extensive knowledge and experience across various aspects of the jewelry industry.
The recipients of the ‘Extraordinary 40’ awards represent a diverse spectrum of geographies and areas of expertise within the jewelry industry. This includes jewelry design and manufacturing, core product categories such as diamonds, colored gemstones, pearls, and technology, as well as exceptional business practices that encompass social responsibility, sustainability, education, and innovation.
