Ahmedabad : Now the doctors can see laboratory reports of patients coming for OPD and indoor treatment of Gandhinagar Civil Hospital on their mobile. For which the doctor can see the report by adding the patient’s MRD number in the link. Hence the civil hospital is working towards paperless operation in the matter of laboratory reports. However, in laboratory testing, a barcode system has been implemented instead of manual operation in the sample tube.

Various facilities are being created keeping in mind the patients in Gandhinagar Civil Hospital managed by Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society. Besides, modern technology is also being used in the treatment and diagnosis of patients as well as in laboratory reports. However, the civil hospital has upgraded the system to speed up laboratory testing of patients undergoing indoor and OPD treatment and diagnosis.

Also, instead of manual operation, barcode stickers are being applied on the tubes of samples taken for laboratory testing. As a result, instead of writing the laboratory report of the patients manually, the computerised report is being given to the patients.

In addition to this, Dr. Niyati Lakhani, Superintendent of the Civil Hospital, has been working in the direction of getting the patients’ reports to paperless doctors. In which all the reports of the patients can now be seen by the doctors in their mobile. For which a link has been created by Civil Hospital with the help of diagnostic report viewer software.

The user ID and password of this link have been given to the HODs of all departments of Civil Hospital and Gandhinagar Medical College. The HOD has given user ID and password to all the subordinate doctors and installed the app in the mobile. On this link, the MRD numbers written on the cases of patients who come for indoor or OPD treatment and diagnosis will be entered by the doctors. Therefore, all the reports of the patient’s laboratory tests will be opened in the mobile, so it will be easier for the doctors to diagnose and treat them.

Based on the patient’s MRD number, doctors will be able to view all types of reports made in microbiology, biochemistry and pathology on their mobile. However, informed sources of the civil hospital have said that in the near future, a facility will be created to view the report including HIV, Pap status, etc. online.

Modern technology has been use to provide timely laboratory reports to the patients coming for indoor and OPD treatment in civil hospital. As the patients do not go to take the report on time, the doctors have difficulty in diagnosis and treatment. However, now with the help of a diagnostic report viewer app, doctors can see the report based on the patient’s MRD number in their mobile, so the diagnosis and treatment will be done faster.
