Former Indian Cricketer Munaf Patel in controversy, bank accounts seized in UP
The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has frozen the two bank accounts operated by Munaf Patel
Surat (Gujarat): The Uttar Pradesh government has frozen the bank accounts of former Indian cricketer Munaf Patel after he failed to repay investors in real estate projects undertaken by his company in the city of Gautam Buddh Nagar following a Recovery Certificate (RC) issued by the UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA).
The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has frozen the two bank accounts operated by Munaf Patel also known as Ikkhar Express in the Indian cricketing world. Patel is the director of Niwas Promoters Private Limited.
The UP RERA issued the RC against Munaf Patel and his company for the recovery of Rs 52 lakh of the gullible small-time investors and genuine home buyers in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
District administration of Gautam Buddh Nagar said the real estate company, whose director is Munaf Patel, had started a residential project in sector 10 in the Greater Noida West sector. The project is still not completed and the investors filed a complaint with the UP RERA against its promoters including Patel. After the hearing, the UP RERA issued the RC on the realty company for recovering Rs 10 crore worth of investors’ money.
