Mehsana :  Nitin Patel, a prominent BJP leader and ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, voiced deep concern over the divisive impact of casteism on Hindu unity.

Speaking at a gathering in Kadi town in Mehsana, Patel emphasized the urgent need for people to transcend caste barriers and unite on the grounds of culture and nationalism.

Highlighting the splintering effects of caste divisions within the Hindu community, Patel remarked, “While the Vaishnav religion and community have contributed significantly to society and the country, it’s unfortunate that caste divisions persist among Hindus.”

“When a particular community faces an issue, it unites swiftly to address it. However, when challenges confront the Hindu religion or the larger community, our collective response lacks the same fervor. This indifference does not bode well for our nation. We must realize that when the country or our religion faces challenges, it’s the responsibility of each one of us to stand up and address them.” Patel remarked.

Known for his influence among the Patidar community in North Gujarat, Patel urged the Patidars to broaden their focus beyond traditional concerns. He remarked, “While the Patidars have made significant strides in social work and community upliftment, there’s a need to shift our focus. It’s imperative that we prioritize concerns beyond traditional conventions, such as equal attention to marriage prospects for both sons and daughters.”

Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of his community in his political journey, Patel acknowledged, “My journey in politics owes everything to the unwavering support of the community. Thousands have stood by me, propelling me to become a mass leader. Our inherent nature is one of solidarity, standing united for each other’s welfare.”

In a departure from conventional political philosophy centered on personal gain, Patel stressed, “Contrary to the ‘I’-centric approach in politics, our community embodies a spirit of collective action. It’s never just about ‘I’ but about ‘us’. True politics should revolve around collective growth and unity.”

Patel’s impassioned plea for unity beyond caste lines resonates with the call for a broader, more inclusive approach to preserve the cultural fabric and strengthen the national identity among Hindus.
