Mumbai:  The EmpowerHER: Trade, Climate Change, and Sustainability Summit, hosted by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Women Empowerment Committee, ended on a high note, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. Taking place on Friday, September 15th, 2023, at NSCI, Worli, Mumbai, the event brought together leaders, advocates, and visionaries dedicated to women’s empowerment, climate change mitigation, and sustainability.

Shri Ramesh Bais, the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, has agreed to be the distinguished Chief Guest for the first session.

Mr. Michael Shreuder, Deputy Principal Officer of the Consulate General of the United States of America, and Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Maharashtra’s Minister of Tourism, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, were among the distinguished speakers who presented their perspectives.

Ms. Smriti Irani, the Hon’ble Minister for Women and Child Development of the Government of India, stressed the national commitment to women’s welfare and development in her speech.

Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Strategies for Sustainable Growth, and Sustainable Ventures were among the informative sessions during the summit. Ms Priya Nagaraj, CEO of Pune Knowledge Cluster, Ms Shipra Rana, MD Mesco Aerospace, and Prof Chandrika Parmakar, Associate Professor SPJMR were among the session’s key speakers.

The event was organised by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce’s Women Empowerment Committee, which was led by DR. Lalit Bhasion, President of IACC, Ms Rajyalaxmi Rao, President of Women Committee, and Mr Pankaj Vora, General Secretary of IACC.

Ms. Ummehaani Khorakiwala, Ms. Kussum Kaull, Ms. Rashi Anand, Ms. Rita Singh, and Ms. Kavita Parikh were members of the Women Empowerment Cell Committee who participated in the programme.

The EmpowerHER conference sparked relevant talks and partnerships targeted at boosting women’s empowerment and long-term development. It encouraged collaboration among stakeholders, sparked creative ideas, and kindled a collective commitment to good change.
