Gandhidham, Gujarat –  It was a matter of double delight for Rajkot’s rising star Dev Bhatt as he claimed double crown by winning the boys U-15 and boys U-13 titles at the Deendayal Port Authority 2nd Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 which is organised by the Kachchh District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) under the aegis of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) from June 26 to 29 at the Late M. P Mittra Indoor Stadium, Haresh Sangtani Sports Complex, Adipur in Gandhidham.

Seeded second in the boys U-15 final, the 11-year-old Dev took out the top seed Dwij Bhalodia of Ahmedabad 3-1 to pocket the title. The top seed in boys U-13 final, Dev continued with his winning momentum and eased past second seed Dhruv Bhambhani of Kachchh with a similar score line to bring home the second tile of the tournament.

However, the most exciting final of the day was played in the girls U-19 event between top seed Riya Jayswal of Bhavnagar and third seed Mouboni Chatterjee of Ahmedabad.

While Riya took the first game, Mouboni stole the next two. The top seed inched ahead once more by winning the 4th and 5th game but the Ahmedabad paddler leveled the tie with three games-a-piece after taking the 6th. In the end, the Bhavnagar paddler Riya won the battle of nerves and the title with a hard-fought 4-3 victory.

Mouboni, unable to overcome the hard-fought loss, went down rather tamely to her city mate and top seed Pratha Pawar in the girls U-17 summit clash.

The girls U-15 title went to top seed Daniya Godil after the Surat paddler managed to pip second seed Charmi Trivedi 3-2 in yet another thrilling encounter.

Ahmedabad’s Khanak Shah, the second seed, completed a come-from-behind 3-1 triumph over fourth seed Dhimahi Kabrawala in the girls U-13 final contest.  The boys U-11 title went to the second seed Naksh Patel of Ahmedabad who upset the top seed and local lad Rehansh Singhvi in a closely-fought tie while third seed Mishka Lakhani of Ahmedabad captured the girls U-13 trophy.

Unseeded Tanush Khindri of Vadodara sprung a surprise as he defeated second seed Samarth Bhabhor of Surat to take home the boys U-9 title while top seed Yaana Singh got the better of unseeded Avishi Joon of Kachchh to lay her hands on the girls U-9 trophy.
