Suneil Anand, actor, filmmaker, and the son of legendary Bollywood icon Dev Anand, has passed away at the age of 70 after suffering a heart attack in London. He reportedly died on July 26, 2026.
The news was confirmed by his niece, Gina Narang, who shared a statement on behalf of the family.
“With heavy hearts, our family mourns the passing of Suneil Anand. We are comforted by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. We kindly request privacy as we navigate this difficult time together.”
Family friend Mohan Churiwala also confirmed that Suneil Anand died due to a heart attack and said that his sister, Devina Anand, had traveled to London following the news.
Career in Bollywood
Suneil Anand began his film journey by assisting his father, Dev Anand, on several productions before making his acting debut in Anand Aur Anand (1984).
He later appeared in films including:
- Car Thief (1986)
- Main Tere Liye (1989)
- Master (2001), which also marked his directorial debut.
Although his films did not achieve major commercial success, Suneil remained closely associated with his father’s cinematic legacy.
Continued Dev Anand’s Legacy
Following Dev Anand’s passing in 2011, Suneil Anand took charge of the legendary production banner Navketan Films, continuing the legacy of one of Indian cinema’s most influential filmmakers.
