Cuffe Parade Visionary Dr. Padmakar Nandekar

Mumbai : Dr. Padmakar Nandekar, honorary secretary of Jalkiran CHS, has been working to transform Cuffe Parade into an upscale, picturesque neighbourhood since 1999. At a recent gathering, he expressed a desire for the area to resemble New York City’s Central Park. He got some assistance from Shri Rahul Narwekar, the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He donated Rs. 500 crore to improve the area’s aesthetics in South Mumbai.

In addition to making Cuffe Parade look better, Dr. Nandekar is also working to clear it of encroachments. Shri Narwekar offered his assistance with this endeavour and discussed using synthetic turf in the Bay View Marina Garden that Dr. Nandekar and others created.

Many notable people, such as BJP Corporators Makarand Narwekar and Harshita Narvekar, attended the Golden Jubilee celebration of Jalkiran CHS, where Shri Narwekar was honoured. With 164 votes, Shri Narwekar was elected as the 2022 Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

In Maharashtra, Shri Narwekar holds a prominent political position. He practises law and represents the Colaba Assembly district as an elected official. He has been involved with the Nationalist Congress Party and the Shiv Sena in the past. He also served as the organisation’s youth wing’s official spokesperson.

Shri Suresh Narwekar, Shri Narwekar Sr., was a city official. Shri Narwekar was born into a family of politicians. Shri Narwekar, a member of the Shiv Sena, applied for a Lok Sabha ticket in 2014 but was not selected. He tried to get a ticket from Shiv Sena, but they rejected him, so he switched to the Nationalist Congress Party. (NCP). To no avail, he attempted to represent Maval in the Lok Sabha. A member of the BJP since the early 2020s, he was elected as the youngest-ever Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2022.
