New Delhi [India], May 18: Cotton Plus, a growing garment retail business founded by Mr. Bindeshwar Gupta, has collaborated with under the mentorship of to improve inventory efficiency, strengthen operational systems, and accelerate business growth.
Operating through stores across Seawoods and Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, Cotton Plus has built its presence as a trusted destination for affordable family fashion. The brand caters to men, women, and children through a carefully curated range of cotton shirts, kurtis, casual wear, and everyday apparel designed around comfort, practicality, and value. With a strong focus on customer accessibility and consistent quality, the company has steadily developed a loyal consumer base in the region.
As the business expanded, Cotton Plus began facing operational challenges that impacted sales productivity and inventory movement.
One of the primary concerns was slow inventory rotation. Before the collaboration, the company’s inventory turnover ratio stood at only 2–3 times annually, indicating that products remained in stock for extended periods before being sold and replenished.
The slow movement of inventory affected cash flow efficiency and reduced the company’s ability to respond quickly to changing customer preferences and seasonal demand trends. Excess capital remained tied up in stock, limiting flexibility in introducing fresh merchandise and optimizing product assortment across stores.
To overcome these challenges and create a stronger operational framework, Cotton Plus collaborated with Bada Business Private Limited through a structured business transformation program led under the guidance of Dr. Vivek Bindra. The collaboration focused on improving inventory planning, streamlining procurement systems, and implementing data-driven operational strategies.
As part of the transformation, detailed FSN-based inventory classification was introduced to categorize products into fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving segments. This enabled the company to identify which categories were generating maximum sales and which products were contributing to inventory stagnation.
In addition, a comprehensive stock audit was conducted to correct inventory discrepancies and standardize inventory records across all stores. This improved visibility and accuracy in stock tracking, helping the management team make more informed procurement and merchandising decisions.
One of the most significant changes came through the implementation of a demand-driven buying strategy. Instead of bulk purchasing, Cotton Plus shifted toward procurement planning based on customer demand patterns, seasonal trends, and sales data. This ensured better stock rotation and improved availability of high-demand products.
Vendor rationalization further strengthened the operational model. Supplier performance was evaluated based on sales contribution, product movement, and margins. The company streamlined its vendor network by strengthening relationships with suppliers delivering faster replenishment and stronger-performing designs.
Following these interventions, Cotton Plus achieved a major improvement in inventory turnover ratio, which increased from 2–3 times annually to 5–6 times annually. The faster inventory movement has improved cash flow cycles, increased sales productivity, and enhanced the company’s ability to respond quickly to customer demand.
With stronger operational systems now in place, Cotton Plus is preparing for its next phase of growth by targeting expansion from three stores to more than ten outlets across Navi Mumbai and nearby markets. The company is also projecting substantial revenue growth driven by improved operational efficiency and stronger inventory performance.
Sharing his thoughts on the transformation, founder Mr. Bindeshwar Gupta said, “This collaboration helped us understand where our operational gaps existed and how data-driven systems can completely change business performance. We are now operating with greater clarity, stronger control over inventory, and a much more scalable approach to growth.”
The Cotton Plus case highlights how operational restructuring and strategic mentorship can significantly improve retail efficiency and scalability. Through its collaboration with Dr. Vivek Bindra and Bada Business Private Limited, the company has strengthened its business foundation and positioned itself for sustainable long-term expansion.
