Celebrate Excellence Event Hosted by Media and Entertainment Skills Council in Mumbai
MESC's recognition of 150+ training facilities and Master Trainers for their exceptional contributions to the industry was the focus of the occasion
Mumbai: – The ‘Celebrate Excellence’ event was held at the NFDC in Mumbai and was organised by the Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC). Shri Ramesh Sippy, Chairman – of MESC, and Mr. Ashish Kulkarni, Vice Chairman – of MESC, as well as MESC Governing Council Members Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Ms. Tehzeeb Khurana, Mr. Chaitanya Chinchlikar, and Industry partner Mr. Kireet Khurana, were in attendance. Attendance at the event was strong, with over 250 training partners, Master Trainers, and industry giants all present and accounted for.
MESC’s recognition of 150+ training facilities and Master Trainers for their exceptional contributions to the industry was the focus of the occasion. These institutions and teachers have shown extraordinary passion and commitment to the future of the M&E business by providing excellent training.
Mr. Ashish Kulkarni stressed the need of membership and certification in establishing credibility. The M&E Admissions Test (MECAT) and the M&E Junior Test (MECAT-JR) were other topics of discussion.
Mr. Kireet Khurana stressed the need for effective trainers and master trainers to develop a professional and knowledgeable workforce.
For the upcoming fiscal year (2023-24), MESC also announced the opening of its Center of Excellence at Whistling Woods International, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India Today Media Institute, Tron Education and Research Pvt. Ltd., and American Academy of Film and Television Arts (AAFT). This cutting-edge building will offer future engineers and technicians in the M&E sector access to cutting-edge training facilities, complete with cutting-edge tools, technology, and resources to foster a culture of excellence in education.
Mr. Ramesh Sippy expressed his deep gratitude to educational institutions for their wonderful work in offering courses that help students acquire new skills. In addition, he praised the MESC staff for their hard work in putting on a great event. The fact that skill development projects are being recognised for their value thanks to Mr. Sippy is a testament to that.
Strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were also exchanged at the event, paving the door for future partnerships and collaborations with industry heavyweights including Wacom, Mugafi, Togethering, and CINTA. The goal of these partnerships is to improve the M&E business as a whole by encouraging creativity, information-sharing, and skill-building.
As part of its global expansion plans, MESC announced its first International Skill Center in the UAE in association with the Global Dance Council. This exciting initiative will provide students with unique opportunities to learn and grow on a global scale, gaining exposure to international standards and practices in the M&E industry.
The event concluded with the announcement of the MESC Golden Skill Awards through MESC Chairman Padma Shri Ramesh Sippy, which will be held in March 2024. These awards will recognize and celebrate the outstanding skills and achievements of professionals in the M&E industry, motivating them to strive for excellence and contribute to the growth of the industry.
