Surat | Gujarat — The Gujarat High Court and many lower courts of various cities of the state were threatened with bomb explosions through emails on Tuesday morning. The lower courts of Surat, Anand, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Bharuch were threatened with RDX by email. This threat was given by LTTE (Liberation Tiger of Tamil Eelam) and members of Kashmir ISKP, and all the courts in the state have been threatened in a similar pattern. Members of Kashmir ISKP along with former members of LTTE have targeted the courts in Gujarat.

During the investigation, the SOG team found a drone in the Rajkot District and Sessions Court premises. However, during the investigation, it was revealed that this drone was brought by a lawyer from Mehsana. Also, no explosives were found in the drone when it was checked by the bomb disposal squad. The police have questioned the lawyer about the drone.

The threatening mail received by the court says that….JECTO GEO Protest: A human suicide bomb has been placed in your court premises with three RDX. Before the explosion, the judges are asked to vacate the court by 1.55 pm.

Bharuch and Gandhinagar Collectorate offices also received email with the same pattern. Apart from this, Bharuch Collectorate and Gandhinagar Collectorate offices also received threatening emails with the same pattern. As soon as this was reported, the police evacuated the Collectorate offices.

A threat was sent to the Surat District Court in English at 2 am late at night, threatening to blow it up with RDX. When the court staff came on duty in the morning and checked the email, it contained a serious warning to blow up the court building with explosives, which created a panic in the administration. The intensive investigation conducted by the security agencies after receiving the blast threat in the court was completed in the afternoon, in which no suspicious items were found. As a precautionary measure and keeping in mind the security arrangements, it was decided by the administration that even after the investigation is completed, only extremely urgent cases will be heard in the court.

After receiving a threat to blow up the Ahmedabad village court on January 5, another threatening email was received to blow up the registry department of the Ahmedabad City Civil and Sessions Court with a bomb on Tuesday. Following this threat, the court proceedings were suspended and teams including the bomb squad and dog squad inspected the court. No explosive material was found in this investigation.

Amidst this development, it was revealed that the Rajkot court had also received a bomb threat. The court’s security in-charge informed the police about this. The control informed the university police as well as the bomb squad, dog squad and SOG. After that, the police evacuated the court premises and conducted an investigation. However, no suspicious object was found.

Surat court premises turned into a police fortress considering the seriousness of the email, the Surat District Court staff immediately informed the Principal Judge. Considering this matter to be extremely sensitive, the Judge, without wasting any time, immediately ordered the police department to be informed about the email and to conduct a strict security check. After the Judge’s order, the court premises were turned into a police camp.

Government pleader Nayan Sukhdwala said that the court staff saw the email in the morning itself. They immediately informed the Principal District Judge. The Principal District Judge also informed the police immediately without wasting any time and currently the police are conducting an intensive checking campaign in the court building. The bomb squad has also arrived and they are also checking.

The Ahmedabad Rural Court near Income Tax received a bomb threat on January 5. An unknown person threatened to blow it up by sending an email to the court’s email ID. The court’s work was suspended after receiving the threat. The police were informed after receiving this email. After that, the Navrangpura police investigated the court with the bomb squad and dog squad.
