BJP and Congress announce star campaigners for local body polls

Gandhinagar : With the Gujarat local body elections set for February 16, 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress have announced their star campaigners who will spearhead election rallies across the state.

The ruling BJP has fielded 20 prominent leaders, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat BJP President C.R. Patil, former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and Rajkot MP Parshottam Rupala. Other key BJP leaders on the list include State General Secretary (Organization) Ratnakar, General Secretary Gujarat Rajni Patel, Gujarat BJP Vice President Gordhanbhai Zadafia, Party General Secretary and MP Vinod Chavda, Yuva Morcha President Prashant Korant, BJP leader Mayank Nayak, and Mahila Morcha Chief Dr. Dipikaben Sarvada. The BJP aims to leverage its organizational strength and the popularity of its leadership to retain dominance in Gujarat’s urban and rural local bodies.

The Congress has also released its list of star campaigners, featuring prominent national and state leaders such as Mukul Wasnik, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Chief Shaktisinh Gohil, Leader of Congress Legislative Party Amit Chavda, senior leader Jagdish Thakor, and other influential politicians like Bharatbhai Solanki, Siddharth Patel, Shailesh Parmar, and Sukhram Rathwa. Additionally, key Congress leaders including Paresh Dhanani, Jignesh Mevani, Gyasuddin Shaikh, Dr. Tushar Chaudhary, and Punjabhai Vansh will campaign aggressively to challenge the BJP’s stronghold in the state.
