Bigg Boss 20: Legendary boxer Mary Kom has opened up about one of the most painful moments of her sporting career. During a conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer, the six-time world champion recalled an injury that ended one of her boxing bouts just 10 seconds after it began.

Mary said the experience was deeply traumatic and revealed that she has not participated in a boxing fight for more than three and a half years. She also said that she is now age-barred from competing.

Mary Kom Recalls Boxing Injury on Bigg Boss 20

Mary Kom was asked by Qazi Touqeer about the injuries she experienced during her long boxing career. While recalling some of the difficult moments, she spoke about a leg injury that forced her to stop fighting almost immediately during one particular bout.

According to Mary, the fight lasted only around 10 seconds before the injury brought it to an end. She described the incident as a traumatic experience.

Her comments offered Bigg Boss 20 viewers a glimpse into the physical challenges that accompanied her decorated sporting career.

Mary Says She Has Not Fought for 3.5 Years

Mary also revealed that she has not taken part in a boxing fight for more than three and a half years. She further said that she is now age-barred from participating in competitions.

The development marks a major change from the career that made her one of India’s most celebrated athletes. Mary has won multiple world titles and an Olympic bronze medal, becoming one of the most recognisable names in Indian boxing.

Qazi Touqeer Reminds Mary of Her Achievements

During their conversation, Qazi reminded Mary of the pride she brought to India through her boxing career.

Mary spoke about her national and international achievements, including her world championship victories. Her career has been defined by years of training, injuries, discipline and sacrifices.

In another conversation inside the Bigg Boss house, Mary Kom discussed gaming with fellow contestant Tanmay Singh, popularly known as ScoutOp.

Mary admitted that she had never encouraged her children to pursue gaming as a career. ScoutOp, who has built his own career in esports and gaming, offered a different perspective.

He explained that gaming can become a legitimate career for people who have the necessary skills and dedication. He suggested that parents could give children a limited period to explore gaming and assess whether they have the ability and interest to pursue it professionally.

Mary Kom’s Bigg Boss 20 Journey

Mary Kom entered Bigg Boss 20 as one of the season’s most prominent contestants. The show premiered on September 6, with Mary among the group of celebrities and public figures competing in the house.

Her journey has already included conversations about her boxing career, discipline, personal experiences and life outside sport. She also received a special message from Priyanka Chopra Jonas during the grand premiere. Chopra, who portrayed Mary in the 2014 biographical film Mary Kom, wished her well and jokingly warned the other contestants about her knockout abilities.
