The reason mathematics seems challenging for thousands of CBSE students is not because of its intrinsic nature, but the fear, uncertainty, and stress surrounding it. In Coimbatore, there is one such teacher who aims to completely turn that notion around. Through his expanding educational program, known as Maths Vaathi by Gangatharan, the educator and mentor Gangatharan is helping students overcome their fear with a pedagogical approach that is based on clear concepts and easy-to-relate-to teaching style.

Popularly known as “Maths Vaathi,” Gangatharan has established himself as an authority among CBSE families when it comes to helping students make sense of mathematics through simplification of mathematical concepts taught to students of class 8 to class 12. With years of experience as a Maths tutor and National Chess player, he is a great example of systematic and strategic learning.

Building Confidence Beyond Marks

As opposed to the conventional coaching techniques which stress heavily on memorising things, Maths Vaathi places more emphasis on learning concepts before anything else. In this way, the program makes it easier for students to grasp the essence of formulae and methodologies.

Maths Vaathi uses conceptual learning methods, exam-oriented preparation, intensive practice using past year CBSE question papers, and one-on-one doubt clearing sessions. The program ensures continuous parent involvement via consistent feedback and mentorship in accordance with a specific roadmap.

According to Gangatharan, “Students don’t dislike maths; they dislike looking dumb in class. Once you clear it up for them, give them a safe place in a classroom, and provide them with a road map, their marks and self-confidence will rise simultaneously.”

Creating a Strong Student Community in Coimbatore

Maths Vaathi is a new entrant into the education business, having been established in the year 2025. Within a short time span, it has gained popularity as an education brand in Coimbatore by creating its presence not only on social media but also in the form of offline learners. It has managed to engage the students using a combination of Tamil language expressions alongside CBSE curriculum lessons through its bilingual approach.

In association with StudentX, Maths Vaathi runs several programmes including quiz shows, mentorship programmes, school programmes, and student engagement programmes. One of its latest events included the STUDENTX Excellence Awards 2026. This was a felicitation event honouring CBSE class 10 students for securing marks greater than 90 in Science and Maths. As Chief Guest, it had the privilege of having Thiru. Dr. Ganapathy Rajkumar, Member of Parliament, Coimbatore.

Vision for a Complete CBSE Maths Ecosystem

In the future, Math Vaathi aspires to create a holistic platform catering to the CBSE Maths education needs of students including bridge courses for classes 8th & 9th along with personalized assistance in board year studies, and special support in cases where reappearances might be required.

Even while scaling up through partner schools and digital mediums, the Math Vaathi brand strives to ensure that the intimacy and warmth of being mentored by an accessible neighborhood tutor is maintained. Through increasing credibility with students, parents, teachers, and school management, Maths Vaathi by Gangatharan continues to transform the CBSE students’ perspective towards Mathematics from fear to understanding and joy.
