Assistant PF Commissioner Caught in Vapi Bribery Case

Vapi : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the assistant PF Commissioner and Enforcement officer from the PF office in Vapi in a bribery case of Rs 5 lakh from Snehdeep complex at Gunjan intersection at Vapi in Valsad district. 

ACB team set a trap and caught assistant PF commissioner Harshad Kumar Parmar and Enforcement officer Suprabhat Ranjan Tomar in the bribery case and necessary action has been taken.

A builder running a private construction company in south Gujarat was served with a notice by the Vapi PF office for not deducting PF of the employees working in his company. The case was going on at the Vapi PF office when the accused officers together demanded Rs 5 lakh to dispose off the case quickly and reduce the amount of penalty. 

As the builder did not want to pay the bribe amount, he contacted the Anti-Corruption Bureau and complained. A team led by ACB police inspector JR Gamit under the supervision of Assistant Director of ACB, RR Chaudhary set a trap at the PF commissioner’s office in Vapi. The assistant PF commissioner and enforcement officer were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 5 lakh from the complainant. 

A case has been lodged against the officers and investigations are going on.
