Hazira, Surat (Gujarat) [India], August 29: AMNS International School in Surat recently hosted a Knowledge Fest to mark Independence Week, where students from Classes V to XII showcased projects, performances, and models across various subjects and themes for teachers and parents.

Students of Classes XI and XII led with wide-ranging projects. Commerce students explored hedge funds, hype markets, and influencer marketing, and analyse the growth of the sports economy. Humanities students created a model of Surat’s city planning, drawing on regional planning concepts and lessons from cities across India and abroad.

Psychology and Biology students worked together on an epigenetic display that explained how genetic expression and behaviour influenced across generations. Physics students presented practical demonstrations on radar systems, ultrasound ranging, and gravity-battery models for renewable energy storage. Computer Science students drew strong interest in their working prototypes, including a face-recognition tool and a sign-language interface that translated hand gestures into text.

Describing the event as a “living classroom”, Sunita Mattoo, Principal, AMNS International School, said, “The Knowledge Fest showed us what learning can look like when it is collaborative and connected to the real world. I am proud of the way our students, teachers, and parents came together to enliven the event and make the spirit of National Education Policy 2020 visible in every corner of the campus.”

Career and life skills were also a highlight of the fest. Class X students hosted a financial literacy corner explaining budgeting and common scams. Other exhibits introduced unconventional careers in areas such as neuromarketing, food styling, public policy, and game design, with dedicated sessions on cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and artificial intelligence.

Students of classes V to IX brought energy and creativity to their projects. Math’s students showcased superstore models, comparative studies of railways and airlines, probability, and proofs of Pythagoras’ theorem, while Science students presented working models on rainwater harvesting, maglev technology, air purification, automatic cloth dryers, and dialysis.

Social Science students explored rivers at risk, world heritage, ocean-floor mapping, and natural wonders, while students of English presented scenes from Macbeth, book reviews, grammar games, and plays. Hindi and Sanskrit came alive through debates, recitations, and themed corners.

Cross-disciplinary projects stood out. Class VII students composed musical compositions on ocean-floor dynamics, while class IX students integrated studies of metallurgy and glass industries.
