Hazira/Surat (Gujarat): ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, two of the world’s leading steelmakers, has rolled out a mobile medical unit to provide doorstep healthcare delivery in Hazira and other villages in the vicinity of its steel plant at Hazira.

The mobile medical unit, a collaboration between AM/NS India’s CSR wing and HelpAge India, is equipped with sphygmomanometer, sample collection devices, weighing scale, and other equipment to provide basic healthcare services free of cost to villagers. A doctor will accompany the mobile medical unit during its visit to villages and attend to the villagers. Medicines will also be provided to patients free of cost.

The mobile medical unit was flagged off by Dr. Anil Matoo, Head of Human Resource Operations, IR, and

Administration at AM/NS India, Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head of CSR at AMNS India and Dr. Brijesh Shukla CNH, Hazira, in the presence of officials and employees of AM/NS India.

“Health is one of the core thrust areas of our CSR activities. The mobile medical unit will boost healthcare delivery in the nearby villages,” Dr. Matoo said on the occasion.
