Adani Power’s Godda Power Project to begin operation on December 16: Gautam Adani

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India]: Adani Group is set to start the commercial operation of its 1,600 MW thermal power plant being built in Godda district in Jharkhand to supply power to Bangladesh by December 2022.

Soon after meeting the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi on Tuesday, Adani Group chairman, Gautam Adani tweeted, “It is an honor to have met Hon PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in Delhi. Her vision for Bangladesh is inspirational and stunningly bold. We are committed to commissioning our 1600 MW Godda power project and dedicated transmission line to Bangladesh by Bijoy Dibosh on December 16, 2022”

Sources said all the work at the Godda power project in Jharkhand is complete. The plant is ready and only finishing touches are being made. It is scheduled to be commissioned on December 16, which is celebrated as Bijoy Dibosh in Bangladesh.

The coal-fired plant with two 800 MW units is being built by Adani Power (Jharkhand) Limited using ultra-supercritical technology with equipment imported from China. The project is being built on eco-friendly standards to make it a green plant. The total investment in the Godda project has been Rs 15,000 crore.

Adani Power has completed the laying of the transmission line to supply power to the Bogura district in Bangladesh.
