Surat | Gujarat — On the occasion of World Environment Day, observed on 5th June 2026, a series of awareness and plantation programs were organized by Adani Petronet Dahej Port Limited and Adani Foundation at the port premises as well as at Suva Government High School. These initiatives marked a significant step toward environmental conservation and community participation.
A plantation drive was conducted at Adani Petronet Dahej Port Limited to commemorate the occasion. The program was graced by Dr. Navnath Gavhane, IAS (Collector and District Magistrate, Bharuch) and Capt. Dharam Prakash (COO, Adani Port, Dahej), along with Heads of various departments and members of the Adani Foundation team.
During the program, saplings were planted along the main road outside the port boundary, and the development of a green belt along the road is currently in progress. The initiative aims to enhance green cover and improve the surrounding environment. The dignitaries appreciated the effort and emphasized the importance of participation and collective responsibility in environmental conservation.
At Suva Government High School, the program focused on creating awareness among students and the local community regarding environmental sustainability and eco-friendly practices. The event was attended by Shri K.N. Vaghamshi (Regional Officer, GPCB), Capt. Dharam Prakash (COO, Adani Port), Shri Kunal Pawar (Security Head, Adani Cement), Shri Dhamendra Oza (Admin Head, Adani Cement), Smt. R.N. Kiri and Shri K.J. Mistry (GPCB Officers), Smt. Manjulaben Rathod (Sarpanch, Suva Gram Panchayat), Smt. Alka Bhatt (Principal), Shri Yogesh Meghpara (Unit CSR Head), and Shri Durgsinh Bhatti (Security Manager, Adani Power). Heads of Departments from Dahej Port, members of the Adani Foundation team, school staff, students, and parents were also present.
As part of the initiative, 50 saplings were planted within the school premises, with a long-term plan to develop a Miyawaki forest of over 3,000 saplings. Additionally, more than 150 saplings were distributed to students for plantation at their homes. An awareness session was also conducted focusing on environmental conservation, clean and sustainable living, and individual responsibility toward protecting natural resources. The program concluded with a collective pledge to adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life.
Both events witnessed enthusiastic participation and strong collaboration among all stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment toward environmental protection and sustainable development.
