Adani Foundation Honors Women Fighting Malnutrition with ‘Mata Yashoda Award’

Surat: In a heartfelt tribute to women’s empowerment and health awareness, the Adani Foundation, in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department, celebrated International Women’s Day at Birsamunda Bhavan, Umarpada. The event recognized the dedication of Suposhan Sangi sisters and Anganwadi workers in combating malnutrition and promoting maternal and child health.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the ‘Mata Yashoda Award’ to Anganwadi worker sisters, acknowledging their tireless efforts in ensuring the well-being of children and mothers in Umarpada taluka. Suposhan Sangi sisters, who have been instrumental in raising awareness and eliminating malnutrition, were also honored with mementos and certificates.

“These women have worked selflessly to improve community health and eradicate malnutrition. Their efforts deserve the highest recognition,” said Sheetalben Patel, CSR Head of Adani Foundation.

The event was attended by Daryaben Vasava, Chairperson of the Tribal and Women’s Child Development Committee, District Panchayat, along with Mamlatdar R.K. Chaudhary, Taluka Panchayat President Rameshbhai Vasava, and B.K. Meenadidi Brahmakumari. Their presence emphasized the importance of supporting grassroots initiatives for better healthcare.

“The contribution of these women is invaluable. They are the backbone of our society, ensuring a healthier future for our children,” said Rameshbhai Vasava.

A session on women’s safety laws was also conducted, providing insightful information on legal rights and protection measures for women.

The event brought together Anganwadi workers, Suposhan Sangi sisters, members of the Adani Foundation, and ICDS representatives, making Women’s Day a meaningful celebration of empowerment, health, and community service.
