Adani Foundation Celebrates Women’s Day in Dahej, Empowers Rural Women

The Adani Foundation marks Women's Day annually with a unique theme and concept each time.  This year's celebration embraced the theme of "Accelerate Action for Equality for Women," highlighting a significant commitment to this important cause.  Over 350 women from 20 villages near Netrang gathered for this celebration.

Dahej : The Adani Foundation in Dahej marked International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Chasvad, located in the tribal region of Bharuch district. 

The Adani Foundation marks Women’s Day annually with a unique theme and concept each time.  This year’s celebration embraced the theme of “Accelerate Action for Equality for Women,” highlighting a significant commitment to this important cause.  Over 350 women from 20 villages near Netrang gathered for this celebration.

Ushaben Dineshbhai Vasava, honored with the Nari Shakti Samman by the President, was joined by Mahendrabhai Patel, the head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Chasvad, and Lalit Patil, the women sarpanch of the village, among other distinguished guests at the event. 

Ushaben Vasava shared her insights on the concept of Nari Shakti, illustrating what a woman can achieve when she embraces this idea through her own experiences.  Mahendra Bhai Patel highlighted the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Chasvad in empowering women within the agricultural sector, encouraging them to engage in agriculture, animal husbandry, and embrace new technologies.

In conjunction with the observance of Women’s Day, various activities such as musical chairs and bubble glass games were held, showcasing the enthusiastic participation of women.  Prizes were awarded to the victorious women as well. 

To ensure the continued participation of women in agriculture, 115 women farmers received power-operated spray pumps, while approximately 150 women were provided with maize and millet seeds.  Ushaben Vasava expressed great admiration for the initiatives undertaken by Adani Foundation in rural development.
