Kevadia :Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently visited the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue dedicated to India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in Kevadia, Gujarat. During his visit, Aamir offered a floral tribute to the iconic statue and toured the accompanying museum with keen interest.
Aamir explored Vishwa Van (Global Forest) in a pink rickshaw and planted a forest fire tree as part of the environmental initiatives at the site. He was served a traditional Gujarati lunch featuring bhindi sharbat, bajri and makai thepla, makai muthiya, and churma laddu, reflecting the state’s rich culinary heritage.
Speaking to the media, Aamir expressed his admiration for the landmark. “India has many ancient places, but this is my first time seeing such a modern marvel. I feel fortunate to be here on National Unity Day and salute Sardar Saheb for his immense contribution to the nation,” he said.
Aamir lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for envisioning and realizing the statue. “When I first saw this statue, I was thrilled and felt goosebumps. Every Indian should visit this place. It’s not just a tribute to Sardar Patel but also an inspiration for future generations. My grandfather, Maulana Azad, was also a freedom fighter, and visiting this site helps you understand the sacrifices made for our independence. I will return with my children to explore more.”
Aamir was equally impressed by the transformation of Gujarat over the years. “The atmosphere here is incredible. Gujarat has a unique blend of history and natural beauty. Cities like Vadodara have evolved into modern hubs, and the state offers immense opportunities for the film industry. It’s no surprise that Gujarat continues to attract filmmakers,” he added.
The actor praised the comprehensive development of the Statue of Unity complex, which serves as a center of national pride and a tribute to Sardar Patel’s legacy. Aamir’s visit not only highlighted the importance of the site but also emphasized its potential to inspire visitors through its historical and cultural significance.
