SITEX 2026 to Showcase Next-Gen Textile Machinery

SURAT : Surat’s textile industry is set for a technology upgrade as SITEX-2026 prepares to showcase machinery designed to improve weaving efficiency, reduce waste and cut production downtime. For the first time, the three-day expo will feature a water-jet Jacquard machine and automated equipment for cleaning lint and fly waste from textile machinery.

Organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), SITEX-2026 will be held from September 26 to 28 at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC), Sarsana.

SGCCI president Ashok Jirawala said the exhibition aims to help Surat’s textile sector compete in a rapidly changing global market.

“To survive global competition, it is imperative to move beyond traditional methods and adopt state-of-the-art technology, automation and high-speed machinery,” Jirawala said.

The expo will feature advanced machinery for spinning, winding, texturising, twisting, rapier and air-jet weaving, high-speed warping, circular knitting, hosiery, embroidery, braiding and garment manufacturing.

Technology for technical textiles, quality testing, measurement, pollution control and recycling will also be showcased under one roof.

A key attraction will be a Weaving Production Intelligence Platform that uses machine data to identify downtime, prioritise machines and analyse production losses.

SGCCI vice-president Ravi Raj Desai said, “Going beyond live monitoring, the platform will enable a significant boost in productivity through stoppage analysis and performance insights.”

More than 100 exhibitors from major textile centres, including Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bhilwara, Tiruppur, Kota, Bhavnagar and Vadodara, are expected to participate. Organisers said visitors from more than 150 cities are expected during the expo.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on September 26 at 10 am at Ushakant Marfatia Hall. Gujarat Forest and Environment Minister Arjun Modhwadia will attend as chief guest.

For safety reasons, organisers have prohibited entry to children below 16 years because of live demonstrations involving heavy industrial machinery.
