Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Begins on 76th birthday of PM Modi In Vadnagar

VADNAGAR : Vadnagar turned into the centre of a major public-service campaign on Thursday as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and 25 years in public life. The month-long campaign includes service, cleanliness and public-awareness programmes.

At Sharmishtha Lake, Shah and Patel participated in a Maha Aarti and prayed for Modi’s long life. The dignitaries later visited the historic Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple and offered prayers for the progress of Gujarat and the country.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said Modi’s public life had been guided by the principle of “India First” and the welfare of the poor.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life is dedicated to the service of the nation and the welfare of the poor,” Shah said, while highlighting what he described as 25 years of continuous public service.

Shah also cited welfare measures, including foodgrains, housing, sanitation, electricity, cooking gas and healthcare coverage, while attributing major economic and policy changes to the Modi government.

Patel described the Vadnagar-Varanasi bike rally as a “Sankalp Yatra” dedicated to national service. Around 250 bikers were flagged off from Vadnagar carrying sacred water from Sharmishtha Lake for a planned Jalabhishek at Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi.

“The soil of Vadnagar inspired Narendra Bhai Modi to dedicate himself to the nation with patriotism and the belief that national interest comes first,” Patel said.

The rally will travel through multiple locations, spreading messages of service and public awareness. The Vadnagar-Varanasi and Varanasi-Vadnagar journeys are part of the wider campaign and are scheduled to conclude in October.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Minister Anupriya Patel also attended the Vadnagar programme. Shinde highlighted Modi’s national initiatives, while Anupriya Patel spoke about welfare delivery and poverty reduction.

Shah subsequently joined a cleanliness drive at Vadnagar railway station through Shramdaan. A tree plantation drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ was also held at the station.

Gujarat ministers, MPs, MLAs, saints, social leaders and citizens attended the event.
