Surat’s Vivan Dave Wins Medals in Mongolia, Uzbekistan

SURAT :A 14-year-old table tennis player from Surat is turning international exposure into medals, with Vivan Rashesh Dave securing Silver in Mongolia and Bronze in Uzbekistan as he continues his rapid rise in the Under-15 category.

Vivan won the Under-15 Boys’ Singles Silver at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Youth Contender Ulaanbaatar 2026 in Mongolia before adding a Bronze medal at the WTT event in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His international campaign has been supported financially by Adani Hazira Port Limited (AHPL), part of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ).

The Grade IX student began playing table tennis at the age of six. After making his way through district and state-level competitions, Vivan delivered a breakthrough performance at the 2025 Under-15 National Championship in Gandhidham, where he won the individual title. He also claimed Gold in the Under-15 Team event and Bronze in Doubles.

His national performances have helped him rise to No. 2 in India in the Under-15 category, placing him among the country’s leading young table tennis players.

“International tournaments give young players an opportunity to compete against different styles and gain valuable experience. The support from AHPL has helped Vivan get these opportunities and continue his development,” said his support team.

Vivan currently trains in Hyderabad, where he stays in a hostel while balancing school with professional table tennis coaching. Competing overseas, however, comes with considerable expenses, including travel, accommodation and tournament participation.

AHPL’s financial assistance has helped ease that burden, enabling the young player to participate in WTT tournaments where he can earn crucial ranking points and gain exposure to international competition.

With medals from Mongolia and Uzbekistan adding to his growing record, Vivan is now focused on maintaining his momentum on the Under-15 circuit while continuing his Grade IX studies.
