New Delhi, August 12, 2026: A significant milestone for indigenous agricultural technology unfolded in New Delhi as Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji unveiled the NIKA2 Kisan Medium Drone developed by AkinAnalytics. The minister witnessed the demonstration of the platform, bringing attention to the capabilities of an Indian-made agricultural drone and the work of a MeitY-supported women-led DeepTech startup. The occasion marked an important step in AkinAnalytics’ journey towards taking its technology from field applications to a wider national platform.
AkinAnalytics was represented by founder and CEO Janaki Pulaparthi, a Computer Science Engineer and ISB alumna. The company’s identity combines indigenous drone technology, AI-augmented analytics and DeepTech applications across multiple sectors. Its work extends beyond agriculture to environmental operations, infrastructure, mining, energy and defence. The ministerial opportunity to witness and unveil NIKA2 brings particular significance to the company’s role as a women-led technology enterprise.
The NIKA2 platform has been developed around the need for greater versatility in agricultural drone operations. It brings spraying and spreading functions together, with a 16-litre spraying capacity and a 13-kg spreading capacity. Under suitable conditions, the drone can cover approximately three acres in a single sortie. Its design is intended to allow operators to undertake different agricultural activities without relying on separate drone platforms for every operation.

Technology built into the drone further broadens its potential applications. Terrain-following capability enables operations across varying and undulating landscapes, including tea-estate environments. NIKA2 can perform precision crop spraying and seed and granule spreading and can also be deployed for aquaculture feed distribution across fish and shrimp ponds. Night-operation capability and advanced fail-safe features add to the platform’s operational flexibility and reliability.
The company’s experience has been built through deployments that extend beyond commercial agricultural use cases. In Andhra Pradesh, AkinAnalytics has used drones for aerial seed-ball dispersal in large-scale afforestation operations. It has also established a DGCA-authorised RPTO at Amalapuram, supporting drone training and rural entrepreneurship. Its development journey has been supported through Government of India initiatives including NIDHI PRAYAS, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme and MeitY SAMRIDH, while the company has also been associated with iDEX and Stanford Seed Spark.
The unveiling by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji gives NIKA2 a significant national platform while bringing attention to the larger story behind the technology. The event demonstrates how a women-led, MeitY-supported DeepTech startup can develop indigenous solutions around Indian agricultural needs. For AkinAnalytics, NIKA2 is not simply another drone platform. It represents the company’s attempt to combine indigenous engineering, operational experience and sector-specific innovation into a technology solution capable of supporting the evolving demands of Indian agriculture.
