AHMEDABAD :  HDFC Bank has expanded its savings account portfolio with the launch of two new customised offerings—‘Max for Seniors’ and ‘Max for Her’—designed to meet the evolving financial and lifestyle needs of senior citizens and women. The new variants, introduced under the bank’s flagship Savings Max account, combine banking convenience with enhanced financial security, insurance protection and exclusive lifestyle benefits.

Announcing the launch on Monday, the country’s leading private sector lender said the products have been developed in response to changing demographic trends. India’s senior citizen population is expected to touch nearly 230 million by 2036, accounting for around 15% of the population, while women currently hold 39.2% of all bank accounts and contribute 39.7% of total deposits, according to government data.

Both account variants come with several value-added features, including cyber fraud insurance cover of up to ₹25,000, hospitalisation cover of up to ₹1 lakh, Auto Sweep facility that offers fixed deposit-like returns on surplus savings, complimentary airport lounge access, and personal accidental death cover on debit cards of up to ₹3.19 crore.

The Max for Seniors account also offers an additional 0.5% interest on fixed deposits, doorstep banking services, first-year waiver of annual maintenance charges on Demat accounts, complimentary health check-ups and lifestyle vouchers. Meanwhile, Max for Her provides accidental death insurance of up to ₹10 lakh and 50% discount on locker charges, making it a comprehensive banking solution tailored for women.

Speaking on the launch, Ashish Parthasarthy, Group Head – Branch Banking, Payments, Treasury, Liability Products, Marketing, Virtual Channels and Infrastructure at HDFC Bank, said, “As lifestyles evolve and customer expectations shift, the Bank remains focused on addressing the unique needs of diverse customer segments through tailored, value-rich banking experiences. These new products reinforce our commitment to offering solutions that enhance security, convenience, and long-term financial well-being.”

The bank added that customers opting for its Premium Speciale Savings suite will also receive enhanced cyber protection, curated lifestyle privileges and additional premium banking benefits.
