Unlike other productivity applications available in a world driven by the aim to get everything done, Cocoon Organiser by Hyderabad-based entrepreneur Navya Myneni allows its users to be productive while taking care of their mental wellbeing at the same time.
The idea behind the creation of this app came in the form of personal experience with anxiety and panic attacks of Navya when she was a music student at university. During those periods of dealing with difficult mental challenges, she found that having some routine self-care procedures in the mornings and evenings considerably decreased anxiety levels. These self-care practices later turned out to be helpful not only for reducing anxiety but also gave Navya structure, focus, and emotional calmness.
Knowing how challenging it could be for someone to keep up with work and academic tasks and still have a healthy routine, Navya decided to make her own experience and knowledge available to everyone in the form of Cocoon Organiser.
In contrast to conventional productivity software, Cocoon Organiser urges users to concentrate on the current week, avoiding the overwhelming effect of long-term timetables. Self-care is introduced into everyday life through separate areas for such activities as meal planning, exercising, wardrobe organisation, managing work tasks, goal setting, self-talk, gratitude, affirmations, journaling, and emotional reflections.
What sets the platform apart from others is its user-centric approach to design. It includes plenty of hand-made illustrations while lacking unnecessary notifications. The user experiences being in touch with a thoughtfully designed paper planner and diary when working with the application. This way, they will not be distracted during any of the journaling or reflective processes.
It should also be noted that Cocoon Organiser cares about the user’s wellbeing through another aspect – certification. The platform has undergone an evaluation process and received an approval from ORCHA (Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps). This international digital health organisation is known worldwide for evaluating medical products, which are approved in many European countries.
Privacy of users is of paramount importance to Navya. As many tech companies depend on their data-sharing model to thrive, Cocoon Organiser follows an alternative approach and puts user trust first. Thus, ethics becomes one of the most important pillars of Cocoon Organiser.
Developed based on insights from psychologists and mental health experts, Cocoon Organiser evolves not only as a tool for improving users’ efficiency but also as an aid to their wellbeing. In addition, Cocoon Organiser plans to receive certifications from well-known organizations concerned with mental health issues and, thus, promote its mission of providing structured self-care.
As discussions about mental health problems become increasingly frequent, Cocoon Organiser comes to prominence as a simple solution that enables users to develop healthy habits, decrease stress, and live in the moment. With this innovation, Navya Myneni demonstrates that there is no need for a divide between productivity and wellbeing; these concepts can be harmoniously combined into one experience.
