According to investigators, the network was allegedly operating under instructions from Pakistan-based handlers identified as Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar.

Weapons, Ammunition and Drugs Recovered

During the operation, police recovered:

  • five pistols
  • 41 live cartridges
  • seven mobile phones
  • one Scorpio SUV

Officials said the accused were allegedly involved in smuggling weapons, ammunition, and narcotics into India through routes connected to Punjab before distributing them across Delhi-NCR.

Youth Allegedly Recruited Through Social Media

The Special Cell claimed the network targeted young people through social media platforms by promising quick money and connections to criminal networks.

Police said recruits were allegedly drawn into illegal activities including:

  • arms smuggling
  • drug trafficking
  • delivery of illegal consignments
  • surveillance operations

Investigation Began After Intelligence Input

The investigation reportedly began in May 2026 after authorities received intelligence regarding suspicious activities linked to Pakistan-based operatives.

Police first arrested Mohit, also known as “Yogi,” and allegedly recovered illegal weapons during the operation. Investigators claimed they also found communication records connecting him to handlers based in Pakistan.

Sensitive Locations Allegedly Surveyed

During interrogation, investigators allegedly discovered that members of the group had been monitoring important locations across Delhi, Ghaziabad, and nearby regions.

According to police, photographs, videos, and location-related information were allegedly being shared with operatives in Pakistan.

Officials stated that timely intervention by security agencies may have prevented multiple potential terror-related incidents.

Drone Drops Used for Smuggling: Police

Investigators also alleged that the network was involved in collecting consignments of weapons and narcotics delivered through cross-border drone drops near the India-Pakistan border.

These consignments were then reportedly transported into Delhi-NCR using local contacts and vehicles.

Several Accused Already Facing Criminal Cases

Police said multiple people connected to the network are already facing cases related to:

  • murder
  • attempted murder
  • dacoity
  • Arms Act violations
  • NDPS Act offences

Authorities are continuing searches for other absconding suspects, illegal weapon suppliers, and individuals suspected of financing the network.

Officials believe the ongoing investigation could reveal additional terror and criminal links connected to the alleged ISI-backed operation.
