Surat | Gujarat — In a move aimed at reshaping urban living with technology and sustainability, Tata Power has launched its EZ Home Smart Automation Solutions in Surat, first in Gujarat,  bringing connected, energy-efficient living to one of India’s fastest-growing cities. The launch marks a key milestone in the company’s ambitious “100 Cities, 1 Purpose” initiative to make smart homes more accessible across the country.

Table Of Content

  • Smart automation designed for modern lifestyles
  • Savings for households and the environment
  • Experiential launch and future expansion

Company officials described the launch as a step toward “simplifying everyday living while helping households reduce energy costs and environmental impact.”

Smart automation designed for modern lifestyles

Tata Power EZ Home integrates automation and energy management into a single app-based platform, enabling homeowners to control lighting, appliances, and climate settings from anywhere. The portfolio includes smart sockets, touch panel switches, retrofittable converters and motion sensors that can be installed in both new and existing homes without major rewiring.

“Consumers today want smart technology that is reliable, affordable and easy to adopt. EZ Home delivers convenience and energy optimisation in one seamless solution,” a company spokesperson said.

Built-in overload protection and voltage fluctuation safeguards are designed to protect appliances, while automation features such as scheduling and real-time monitoring help optimise energy use.

Savings for households and the environment

According to the company, a typical household using the system could reduce electricity consumption by around 15% annually. This translates to savings of more than 1,300 units of electricity and approximately ₹10,000 on yearly power bills. The reduction in energy use could also offset about 1.1 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually — equivalent to planting roughly 15 trees each year.

A major contributor to these savings is intelligent air-conditioning optimisation, which reduces unnecessary cooling through automated scheduling and usage insights.

Experiential launch and future expansion

Visitors at the Surat launch experienced a live demonstration wall that showcased real-life smart living scenarios and potential energy savings. The interactive display allowed homeowners to explore how automation could transform daily routines.

Officials said Surat’s growing focus on premium housing and sustainable infrastructure made it an ideal market. “Smart, safe and energy-efficient homes are no longer a luxury — they are becoming a necessity,” said Kaushik Sanyal, National Head – Group Captive & Enterprise Accounts, Tata Power.
