Nehal Wadhera is an Indian cricketer born on 4 September 2000 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He is a talented left-handed top-order and middle-order batter known for his fearless stroke play, quick scoring ability, and strong performances in pressure situations.

He started his cricket journey in Punjab’s age-group system and quickly rose through the ranks with consistent performances in domestic cricket. He has represented Punjab in major Indian domestic tournaments like the Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A) and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20), where his ability to handle both pace and spin made him a standout young batter.

Wadhera came into the limelight after being picked by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut in 2023 and impressed fans with his calm temperament and aggressive intent. He played crucial middle-order innings, often stabilizing the team under pressure and accelerating when needed.

Later, he became part of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) squad, where he continued his growth as a reliable T20 batter. In the IPL 2026 season, playing for Punjab Kings under captain Shreyas Iyer, he has been used as a flexible middle-order option.

In a recent IPL 2026 match between Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings, Wadhera played a quick cameo of 25 runs off 15 balls, hitting boundaries and adding momentum before getting out to Vipraj Nigam. His aggressive intent supported PBKS’s strong chase alongside Shreyas Iyer’s match-winning knock.

Playing Style

  • Left-handed attacking batter
  • Strong against spin bowling
  • Quick scorer in T20 cricket
  • Good strike rotation under pressure
  • Flexible middle-order role

Career Summary

  • Domestic Team: Punjab
  • IPL Teams: Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings
  • Role: Middle-order batter
  • Batting Style: Left-handed

Nehal Wadhera is considered one of the promising young batters in Indian cricket, and his performances in IPL 2026 suggest he is developing into a dependable future star for Punjab Kings and potentially Indian cricket.
