Ahmedabad | Gujarat —- Chief Minister  Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 14th edition of  ‘Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026’ at Sabarmati Riverfront on Thursday. The flower show, which will run till January 22,  is being organised on the theme ‘Bharat Ek Gatha’, which presents the rich, diverse and proud culture of India.

After the inauguration of the ‘Ahmedabad International Flower Show-2026’, all the guests present including the Chief Minister visited various zones of the flower show and saw various attractions. Apart from this, everyone also appreciated the various flower sculptures.

In this exhibition, a sculpture prepared on the theme of ‘Women Empowerment’ was also unveiled by the Chief Minister. In addition, the world’s largest flower painting honoring the contribution of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to national unity has been prepared for the Guinness Book of World Records. Moreover, a special work on the ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World – Diwali’ declared by UNESCO will also be a special attraction.

It is worth mentioning that the various zones of the exhibition will highlight different aspects of India. Which include ancient knowledge, festive joy, artistic brilliance and the saga of modern development. As visitors move from one zone to another, they will experience the entire time journey of ancient to modern India. Here they will be able to experience the spirit of ‘unity in diversity’ closely.

In addition, special audio guides have also been made. Information about flowers, sculptures and zones can be obtained by scanning QR codes at various places in the flower show.

Apart from this, souvenir shops, nurseries, childcare units and food stalls will be the center of attraction for visitors.

Many independent corporate and government units have become partners in this flower show organized with public participation.

Among the major highlights of this year’s edition is the Eternal India Zone, which represents India’s ancient heritage through intricate floral installations. A breathtaking flower arrangement spanning 30 metres in diameter stands as the centrepiece of the exhibition. Remarkably, key national achievements in high-speed rail, renewable energy, sports, space technology and education have been creatively depicted using flowers, offering a unique fusion of innovation and tradition.

The visitor experience begins at a grand entrance, where two massive flower lions welcome guests, symbolising India’s courage, pride and resilience. A striking lotus fountain further enhances the sense of national pride, setting a majestic tone for the exhibition.

Dedicated festival zones bring India’s diversity to life through floral interpretations of Diwali, Holi, Onam and Bihu, reinforcing the spirit of unity in diversity. A special children’s zone featuring cartoon characters adds colour and joy for young visitors.

Beyond aesthetics, the show promotes environmental awareness, sustainability and biodiversity, encouraging citizens to actively participate in preserving nature and culture.
