Surat | Gujarat — The glittering Surat diamond industry was rocked after the workers went on a flash strike at the leading Greenlab Diamonds, owned by industrialist Mukesh Patel, located in Diamonds and Jewellery park at Ichchapore, Surat, on Friday morning. Greenlab Diamonds, which is a leading manufacturer of lab-grown diamonds shot to fame after a $20000 diamond ring manufactured in their facility at Surat was gifted to the then US first lady Jill Biden when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited US in January-2025.

The news of the workers going on strike at Greenlab Diamond Company spread like wildfire on social media, as Greenlab Company had become famous all over the world for positive news like gifting lab-grown diamonds to the First Lady of America to offering gold ornaments to Ram Lalla and his family residing in the temple in Ayodhya.

Today, when workers in the same company went on a lightning strike, complaining of financial exploitation, there was a huge uproar in the management. According to the information received, the manager of Greenlab Company had announced to take punitive action against some workers by reducing their wages, due to which there was great dissatisfaction among many workers.

Following the announcement of reducing the labor rates, the agitated gemologists left their work and reached the Green Lab complex. Some of them made the video of this incident and posted them on social media. This resulted in the media persons reaching the factory premises located at Ichhapore Gems and Jewellery Park.

In no time, the news that the gemologists had gone on strike at the Surat-based Green Lab company, which produces CVD lab-grown diamonds in India, spread throughout the diamond industry from Surat, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Belgium to America. Pressure came on the management of the Green Lab company from all over. Due to which the management made a huge fuss to end the strike with immediate effect by thrashing the striking employees and succumbing to their pressure, the striking employees even went to work.

However, Green Labor employees said that even if the management was successful in ending the strike today, if the wages are reduced by reducing the labor cost, the employees will leave the company en masse and go elsewhere. There seems to be a lot of fire among the workers of Green Lab at the moment.

The Blunt Times tried to contact the company spokesperson, but there was no response. The statement will be added in this section of the story.
